Your Dashboard Explained

Your Dashboard Explained

Your Dashboard is the home base of your Psalmlog experience — a living snapshot of your spiritual journey. Here's a section-by-section guide to everything you'll find there, on both web and mobile.

Stats Row

At the top of your Dashboard, you'll see three key numbers at a glance:

  • Session Count — The total number of journal entries you've completed.
  • Active Days — How many distinct days you've journaled. This counts the days, not the entries, so three entries in one day still counts as one active day.
  • Streak — Your current consecutive-day journaling streak. Keep it going!

Week at a Glance

Just below your stats, you'll see a row of mood dots representing each day of the current week. Each dot is color-coded to reflect the emotional tone of that day's entry. If you haven't journaled on a particular day, the dot appears empty — a gentle nudge to keep your rhythm.

Consistency Heatmap

Think of this as your journaling contribution grid — similar to what you might see on a developer's GitHub profile. The Consistency Heatmap displays a color-coded grid where each cell represents a day. The deeper the color, the more entries you completed that day.

This view makes it easy to spot your patterns: Are you a weekday journaler? Do you tend to skip weekends? The heatmap reveals your habits at a glance, helping you build (and keep) a consistent practice.

Entry Depth Trend

The Entry Depth Trend is a visualization showing how your journal entries are evolving over time. It tracks engagement and word count, so you can see whether your reflections are growing deeper and more detailed as you continue your practice.

A rising trend here is a great sign — it means you're becoming more comfortable opening up and reflecting honestly. Don't worry about short entries, though. What matters most is showing up.

Mood Journey

The Mood Journey chart plots your emotional tone over time, using the Mood Tags generated from each of your entries. You'll see how your emotional landscape shifts across days and weeks, giving you a meaningful picture of how your faith practice is impacting how you feel.

Biblical Theme Chips

Below your Mood Journey, you'll find a collection of Theme Chips — keyword tags representing the spiritual themes that have appeared across your entries. Themes like "trust," "gratitude," "patience," or "hope" are tracked over time so you can see which threads Scripture keeps weaving through your journey.

Scripture Breadth

This section shows which books of the Bible have been referenced in your guidance. Over time, you'll see your Scripture engagement expand as your entries touch on different areas of life. It's a wonderful way to discover books of the Bible you might not have explored on your own.

Calendar View (Faith Builder and above)

If you're on Faith Builder or Shepherd, your Dashboard includes a full Calendar View with sync support. You can see exactly which days you journaled, tap any date to revisit that entry, and sync your journaling schedule with your personal calendar to build it into your daily routine.

Recent Entries

At the bottom of your Dashboard, you'll find your Recent Entries list — quick access to your latest journal sessions. Tap or click any entry to revisit the full reflection and guidance you received.

Weekly Pulse Card (Shepherd Only)

If you're on the Shepherd plan, your Dashboard features a Weekly Pulse card. This is a curated summary of your week that includes:

  • Top spiritual themes from the past seven days
  • Growth patterns the guidance has identified
  • Emotional trajectory — how your mood has shifted throughout the week

The Weekly Pulse is also delivered to your inbox via email, so you can reflect on your week even if you don't open the app. It's a powerful checkpoint for anyone committed to long-term spiritual growth.

Notification Bell

In the top corner of your Dashboard, you'll notice a notification bell. This is where you'll find alerts for:

  • Weekly Pulse availability (Shepherd)
  • Psalmcast episodes ready to listen (Faith Builder and above)
  • Other updates and reminders to keep you on track

Web vs. Mobile Dashboard

Your Dashboard experience is consistent across platforms, with a few layout differences:

  • On the web, your Dashboard is accessed from the Dashboard (Home) tab in the top navigation. The wider screen lets you see more sections at once, with the Stats Row, Heatmap, and Mood Journey all visible without scrolling on most screens.
  • On mobile, your Dashboard is the Home tab. Sections are stacked vertically for easy scrolling. The Psalmcast tab is available directly from the bottom navigation (Faith Builder and above), and the floating + button in the center makes it easy to start a new entry from anywhere.

Tips for Using Your Dashboard

Check your streak daily. Even a brief entry keeps your streak alive. Consistency builds momentum in your faith journey.

Watch for theme patterns. If the same Biblical Theme Chip keeps appearing, it might be worth spending dedicated time in that area of Scripture.

Use the heatmap as motivation. Seeing a full, deeply colored heatmap is deeply satisfying — and a visual reminder of your faithfulness.
