Your journaling tells a story over time, and Insights helps you see it. Each month, Psalmlog gathers your sessions and surfaces the emotional shifts, spiritual themes, and Scripture that shaped that season — patterns that are hard to notice one entry at a time.

Finding Your Insights

On the web — click Insights in the navigation.
On mobile — tap Insights in the bottom navigation.

Use the month selector at the top to move between months. Your current month builds as you go, so you can check in mid-month rather than waiting for it to close.

What You'll Find

Your Headline

The card at the top names the month in a sentence — the through-line Psalmlog noticed across your sessions. Alongside it you'll see:

Entries this month — how many sessions you wrote
Week streak — consecutive weeks with at least four sessions
Power of 4 weeks — how many weeks this month you journaled four or more times

Four sessions in a week is the point where patterns become visible rather than anecdotal — which is why it's the number Psalmlog tracks.

What You've Walked Out

Faith Builder and above. A running tally of the next steps you've actually completed this month, with your most recent ones listed. It always reflects the current month, even if you're browsing an earlier one. If you haven't completed any steps yet, this section stays hidden rather than showing you an empty box.

Emotional Journey

How your emotional and spiritual state moved across the month, plotted from the states drawn out of each session — resting, grateful, hopeful, seeking, trusting, wrestling, anxious, grieving, doubting. Seeing the shape of a month often lands differently than living through it did.

Themes of the Month

The spiritual themes that surfaced most across your sessions, ranked. Where there's a prior month to compare against, you'll see how those themes shifted — what grew, what faded, what's new.

Scripture Path

Which books and chapters your guidance drew from this month, and how much ground you covered. Over time this becomes a quiet map of where Scripture has been meeting you.

Growth Reflection (Shepherd)

A written reflection on how your journaling itself has shifted — new language, deeper honesty, a widening of what you're willing to bring.

Looking Ahead (Shepherd)

A forward look at the season in front of you, closing with a passage of Scripture chosen for where your month actually left you.

What Each Plan Includes

Free and Seeker — Insights isn't included at these tiers. You'll see a preview of what your month would look like, with the option to start a free trial.
Faith Builder — your headline, Power of 4 tracking, What You've Walked Out, Emotional Journey, Themes of the Month, and Scripture Path.
Shepherd — everything above, plus written narrative woven through each section and the two Shepherd-only sections, Growth Reflection and Looking Ahead.

The difference between Faith Builder and Shepherd is depth: Faith Builder shows you the patterns, Shepherd tells you what they mean.

Months With Only a Few Entries

Insights needs about 3 sessions in a month before the full view has enough to work with.

1–2 sessions — you'll see a lighter view of that month: the entries themselves and how many more would open the full picture.
No sessions — you'll see an invitation to start one.

This isn't a limitation so much as honesty. Two entries can't reveal a pattern, and Psalmlog won't invent one.

Tips for Getting More From Insights

Aim for four a week. That's the threshold where trends become real. It's also the streak Psalmlog tracks for you.
Don't skip the hard days. Difficult seasons produce the insights you'll return to years later.
Look back before you look forward. Open last month alongside this one — the comparison is where most of the meaning lives.
Follow a recurring theme. If the same theme keeps topping your month, revisit the sessions behind it and spend real time there.
