Monthly Insights

Your journaling tells a story over time, and Monthly Insights helps you see it. Each month, Psalmlog reviews your entries and surfaces spiritual themes, emotional patterns, and Scripture connections that reveal how your faith is growing.

Who Can Access Monthly Insights?

Monthly Insights are available based on your current plan tier. Here's what each tier includes:

Free plan — You'll see a preview of what your insights could look like, along with a prompt to start a free trial and unlock the full experience.
Seeker plan — The Insights dashboard isn't included at this tier. Monthly Insights is a Faith Builder and Shepherd feature. If you'd like access, you can upgrade from your Profile settings.
Faith Builder plan — You get a basic monthly insights dashboard that includes spiritual themes, emotional patterns, Scripture connections, growth observations, and personalized encouragement.
Shepherd plan — You get the full, in-depth insights experience. This includes everything in Faith Builder plus deeper analysis, growth narratives, Scripture affinity analysis, and cross-month trend comparisons so you can see how your journey is unfolding over a longer arc.

How to View Your Insights

On the web: Click Insights in the sidebar to open your insights dashboard.
On mobile: Tap Insights in the bottom navigation bar.
Use the month selector at the top of the page to review insights from previous months.

Your dashboard updates as each month closes, giving you a clear snapshot of what that season of journaling looked like.

What You'll Find in Your Insights

Spiritual Themes

Psalmlog identifies recurring themes across your entries — things like gratitude, trust, surrender, hope, or wrestling with doubt. These themes help you notice where your heart has been drawn throughout the month.

Emotional Patterns

Your entries carry emotional texture. Insights highlights the emotional patterns that showed up most often, helping you recognize seasons of peace, seasons of struggle, and the transitions between them.

Scripture Connections

See which passages of Scripture came up most frequently in your guidance and which ones you tagged or returned to. Over time, this reveals which parts of Scripture speak most deeply to your current season.

Growth Observations

These are personalized reflections on how your journaling has shifted over the month. You might notice new language, deeper vulnerability, or a broadening of the topics you bring to your entries.

Personalized Encouragement

Every insights summary closes with a word of encouragement rooted in what your month actually looked like. It's specific to you, not generic.

Shepherd-Exclusive: Deeper Analysis

If you're on the Shepherd plan, you also receive growth narratives that weave your month into a cohesive story, Scripture affinity analysis showing how your relationship with specific books and passages is developing, and cross-month trend comparisons so you can see patterns that stretch across multiple months.

Tips

Journal consistently. Insights improve with more entries. The more you reflect, the richer and more meaningful your analysis becomes.
Don't skip the hard days. Entries written during difficult seasons often produce the most valuable insights later.
Review past months. Use the month selector to look back at earlier insights and notice how your themes and patterns have shifted over time.
Pair insights with your guidance. If a theme keeps appearing in your insights, revisit the guidance from those entries to go deeper.
