How to Use PsalmStory

How to Use PsalmStory

PsalmStory turns your journal entries into visual story cards you can share with friends, family, or on social media. It's a way to reflect on and share what God is doing in your life — without sharing your full journal entry.

What Is PsalmStory?

After completing a journal entry on the mobile app, you can view your guidance as a series of 6 visual slides — similar to an Instagram or social media story. Each slide highlights a different part of your guidance in a clean, shareable format.

The 6 Story Slides

Each PsalmStory includes:

  1. Emotional Reflection — Your primary emotion and secondary mood tags displayed as visual chips.
  2. Personal Summary — A 1-2 sentence reflection of what you shared.
  3. Key Takeaway — The central insight from your entry.
  4. Scripture Connection — The Bible passage most relevant to your situation.
  5. Next Step — A practical, faith-based action to take.
  6. Encouragement — A word of hope to carry with you.

Each slide also shows your entry title, date, and scripture tags.

Viewing Your PsalmStory

  1. Open any completed journal entry from the Sessions page or Dashboard.
  2. Tap the PsalmStory button to launch the story viewer.
  3. The story auto-advances every 4 seconds (24 seconds total for all 6 slides).

Navigation: - Tap the right side of the screen to advance to the next slide. - Tap the left side to go back to the previous slide. - Hold anywhere to pause the story. Release to resume. - Progress bars at the top show which slide you're on.

Sharing Your PsalmStory

To share a slide:

  1. While viewing the story, tap the Share button.
  2. Psalmlog captures the current slide as an image.
  3. Your device's share sheet opens — send it via text, email, or post it to Instagram, Facebook, or any social app.

You can share individual slides or go through the full story and share whichever moments resonate most.

What Gets Shared?

When you share a PsalmStory slide, only the content on that specific slide is included — your entry title, the guidance section text, and any scripture references. Your full journal entry text is never shared. You control exactly what goes out.

Where Is PsalmStory Available?

PsalmStory is available on the Psalmlog mobile app (iOS and Android) for subscribers and trial users. It's not currently available on the web app.
