Exporting Your Journal

Your reflections belong to you. Psalmlog gives you three ways to take your spiritual journey with you — a spreadsheet backup, a printable PDF of your entries, and a keepsake devotional book written around your own journaling.

You'll find all of them on the web at Profile → Export.

What's Included — and What Never Is

This matters, so it comes first: the raw text you wrote is never included in any export. Exports carry your guidance — titles, takeaways, Scripture connections, next steps, encouragement — along with the dates and themes that map your journey. Your private reflection stays where you wrote it.

Journal Backup (CSV)

Available on Seeker and above.

A spreadsheet of your whole journey, ready to open in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets. Each row is one session, with these columns:

Go to Profile → Export and choose Download CSV. Your file downloads directly — there's no waiting.

Entry PDF

Available on Faith Builder and above.

A clean, readable PDF of your entries across a date range you choose — good for printing, sharing with a spiritual director, or keeping a season of your life somewhere you can hold it.

Go to Profile → Export and find the Entry PDF card.
Pick a start and end date.
Choose Download PDF.

If no sessions fall inside your range, you'll be told rather than handed an empty file. Just widen the dates and try again.

Tip: You can also download a single session as a PDF straight from its entry page — look for the Download PDF button while you're reading it.

Devotional Book PDF

Available on Shepherd.

This one is different. Rather than laying your entries out in order, Psalmlog writes a devotional book around them — an opening foreword, an introduction to each chapter, and a closing reflection, all drawn from the season you select. It's built to be a keepsake, not a backup.

Go to Profile → Export and find the Devotional Book PDF card.
Choose a date range covering up to 50 sessions.
Optionally give it a title and subtitle — something like "My Spiritual Journey" and "A year of reflections."
Choose Generate Book.

Book Credits

Each Shepherd billing cycle includes 1 Book Credit, and one book uses one credit. Your credit resets when your billing cycle renews.

Your book takes a few minutes to write. You don't need to keep the page open — we'll email you when it's ready, and it'll be waiting in your export history. If something goes wrong during generation, your credit is refunded automatically.

Finding Past Exports

The Export page shows your last 5 downloads at a glance. Choose View all to see your full export history, with fresh download links for each file.

Exporting While You're on a Trial

Exports unlock once your free trial converts to a paid plan. This keeps exports tied to a real subscription rather than a trial window.

If you'd like to export before your trial ends, you can choose End your trial early from the Export page. This charges your plan immediately, ends the trial, and unlocks exports right away — your subscription then continues normally from that date.

If Exports Aren't Available

"Upgrade to export" — your current plan doesn't include that format. Check the tier list above; CSV starts at Seeker, entry PDFs at Faith Builder, devotional books at Shepherd.
"Update your payment method" — there's a payment issue on your account. Once your payment succeeds, exports return automatically.
"Your subscription has ended" — resubscribe and your full history is still there, exactly as you left it.
"You've already generated a book this billing cycle" — your Book Credit resets at your next renewal.

Tips for Exporting

Back up before big changes. Download a CSV before switching plans or stepping away for a season.
Export by season, not all at once. A PDF covering one meaningful stretch — a hard spring, a year of a new job — reads far better than everything at once.
Save the book for a milestone. One credit per cycle makes the devotional book a natural fit for a birthday, an anniversary, or a year-end review.
