Privacy & Data Security
Privacy & Data Security
Your journal is one of the most personal things you'll ever write. We take that seriously. Here's exactly how Psalmlog protects your data, your privacy, and your trust.
How Your Data Is Stored
Psalmlog uses industry-standard security practices to keep your information safe:
- Encryption at rest and in transit. All journal entries and guidance are encrypted using Supabase's built-in security — your data is protected whether it's being stored or sent between your device and our servers.
- Payment data handled by Stripe. All payment processing happens exclusively through Stripe. Psalmlog never sees, stores, or has access to your credit card details.
- Secure authentication. Sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple. Authentication is managed through Supabase Auth with industry-standard protocols.
How Guidance Is Generated
When you submit a journal entry, here's what happens behind the scenes:
- Your entry text is sent to a secure language model that generates your personalized Scripture-based guidance.
- The service does not train any models on your data. Your entries are never used for machine learning — ever.
- On mobile, guidance is generated securely on Psalmlog's servers. No sensitive keys or credentials are stored on your device. This is a recent security improvement that keeps your data safer.
Voice Journaling
If you use voice journaling to speak your reflections instead of typing:
- Voice recordings are transcribed securely through Psalmlog's servers.
- Only the resulting text is used for guidance generation — the same as if you had typed it.
- Audio files are not permanently stored after transcription is complete.
Psalmcast Audio
Your Psalmcast episodes are treated with the same care as your journal entries:
- Generated episodes are stored securely in your private storage.
- Episodes are only accessible to you via signed, time-limited URLs — no one else can access them.
- Episodes you download on mobile are stored locally on your device and are managed through Profile → Psalmcast Storage.
What Psalmlog Doesn't Do
We want to be completely clear about what we will never do with your data:
- We don't sell your data to third parties. Not now, not ever.
- We don't display ads based on your journal content.
- We don't share your entries with other users. Your journal is yours alone.
- We don't train models on your data. The services we use for guidance generation are contractually prohibited from doing so.
Deleting Your Account
If you ever want to leave, you have full control over your data:
- If you have an active subscription, cancel it first through the web app.
- Go to Profile → Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion.
This action is permanent and irreversible. Deleting your account removes all journal entries, guidance, Psalmcast episodes, and personal information from our systems. Please be certain before proceeding.
