Your journal is one of the most personal things you'll ever write. We take that seriously. Here's exactly how Psalmlog protects your data, your privacy, and your trust.

How Your Data Is Stored

Encryption at rest and in transit. All sessions and guidance are encrypted using Supabase's built-in security — protected whether stored or moving between your device and our servers.
Payment data handled by Stripe. All payment processing happens exclusively through Stripe. Psalmlog never sees, stores, or has access to your card details.
Secure authentication. Sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple. Authentication is managed through Supabase Auth with industry-standard protocols.

How Guidance Is Generated

Your session text is sent to a secure language model that generates your personalized Scripture-based guidance.
The service does not train any models on your data. Your reflections are never used for machine learning — ever. The providers we use are contractually prohibited from doing so.
On mobile, guidance is generated on Psalmlog's servers. No sensitive keys or credentials are stored on your device.

The One Rule Behind Everything We Share

Your raw reflection — the actual words you wrote — never leaves Psalmlog in any feature that produces something shareable or downloadable. This is a deliberate, enforced boundary, not a convention:

Exports carry your guidance, titles, themes, and Scripture references. They never contain your original entry text, mood data, or emotional details.
Psalmstory share links carry five condensed snippets of your guidance and the Scripture passage. Never your reflection.
Psalmcast episodes narrate your guidance only — never your raw entry.

Whatever you write stays between you and your journal.

Sharing a Psalmstory

If you share a session, you stay in control:

Share links are anonymous by default — your name appears only if you choose.
Links are unguessable, and there's no public index. One link reveals nothing about any other.
Recipients must sign in to read the full story, so a shared reflection is never fully open on the internet.
You can revoke any link instantly from Sessions → Psalmstory Links.

Voice Journaling

Voice recordings are transcribed securely through Psalmlog's servers.
Only the resulting text is used for guidance generation — the same as if you had typed it.
Audio files are not permanently stored after transcription completes.

Psalmcast Audio

Generated episodes are stored securely in your private storage.
Episodes are accessible only to you, via signed, time-limited links.
Episodes downloaded on mobile are stored locally and managed through Profile → Psalmcast Storage.

Exported Files

Files you generate through Export are stored in a private bucket that only your account can reach, and download links are signed and time-limited. They're deleted along with everything else if you delete your account.

What Psalmlog Doesn't Do

We don't sell your data to third parties. Not now, not ever.
We don't display ads based on your journal content.
We don't share your entries with other users. Your journal is yours alone.
We don't train models on your data.

Deleting Your Account

If you ever want to leave, you have full control over your data.

If you have an active subscription, you can delete directly — your subscription is canceled as part of the process.
Go to Profile → Delete Account.
Confirm by entering your email address.

Deletion is thorough and permanent. It removes:

Every journal session and its guidance
Your Psalmcast episodes
Your tracked next steps
Your notifications and calendar integrations
Your export jobs and the generated files in storage
Your profile and your login itself

Any Psalmstory links you created are closed immediately and stop working. This action is irreversible — please be certain, and download an export first if you'd like to keep a copy.
